Spring 2019 Home Concert
(Montreal)
On April 14, two accomplished young pianists, Stanford Cheung and Artun Miskcyian, gave a “salon concert” before an appreciative audience of thirty in Montreal. The repertoire included Chopin, Schumann, Rachmaninoff and Kodalyi. Stanford is now in his last year in Music Performance (Master’s level) at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University. Artun is a graduate of the Etobicoke School of the Arts as well as the Taylor Academy (formerly the Young Artists Performance Academy) at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Both have performed extensively in Canada and internationally. The concert proceeds will provide educational support to the Peaceful Children’s Homes, including support for university studies. It is most encouraging to see talented young Canadians, such as Stanford and Artun, generously provide their time and talent on behalf of their peers in much less fortunate circumstances in Cambodia.
